Michael Eugene Good, a U.S. Army veteran, avid music aficionado, sports fan and outdoorsman, passed away from liver complications on December 20, 2012. Michael, a long-time resident of Phoenix, Ariz., was 61.
Born December 29, 1950, in South Charleston, W.Va., to Delmar and Wanda Good. Michael graduated from Dunbar High School in 1969 and in 1984 from DeVry Institute of Technology in computer science. Between 1970 and 1974 he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a three-year letter-winner in football at Dunbar High School.

In the early 1970s Michael began to turn his attention to music. Michael was known by all of his family and friends as the ultimate music resource. He possessed a tremendous knowledge regarding music in general and especially music from the 1960s and 1970s. He was meticulous and worked diligently on adding and restoring all genres of music from their original vinyl to digital, to his vast personal music collection.

Michael was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and great friend to many. He was a devoted and doting owner to his dog, Bono. Despite moving to Phoenix in the 1980s, he remained a faithful follower of West Virginia University sports.

He is survived by his father, Delmar Good of Hurricane; his sisters, Deena Good-Pittman and Jill Good of Fayetteville, N.C.; and his brothers Jeffrey and wife, Gale Good, of Randolph, N.J., and Steven Good of Hurricane.
