She leaves behind her son James Tulane Carrington from San Pablo, daughter, Dianne Holder from Vacaville, her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Carrington from San Pablo, her son-in-law Brooks Holder from Vacaville. She has five grandchildren, Christian Carrington from San Pablo, Martha Kim from Richmond, Rickey Wilson from Maui, Brandie Wilson from Oroville and Brooks Holder III from Maui. She has four great-grandchildren, Tara Louise Ledbedetter from Igo, Chelsea Wilson and Kyle Hector from Vacaville and Aiden Brooks Dinnie the IV from Henderson, NV. She has one great-great-grandson Blake Ledbetter from Igo and her dear sister Archie Aydt from Cape Giradeau, MO. and one special cousin of our father's, Carol Carrier from Chandler, AZ. Many nephews and nieces: Tommy Aydt from Ohio, Beth Pate from Paragould, AR, Dr. Sarah Jedlenski Aydt from Cape Giradeau, MO, Jean Hatcher Moss from Dexter and one cousin, Joyce Peerman from Jackson, MO and a second cousin, Ann Potts from Welling, FL. Ruth was a beautiful woman inside and out, she loved the Lord with all her heart. Her husband Tulane Bartine Carrington was killed in a helicopter crash in 1967 and Ruth remained a widow for 42 years. Her faith in the Lord sustained her when he died. Ruth graduated from Cairo, IL High School, met her husband when he was in the Army Air Corp as a pilot and mechanic. They moved to the Bay Area in 1946 as Mr. Carrington had a job at Shell Development waiting for him after the war. She was a dedicated Legal Secretary for most of her life. Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church and played the organ, and in the choir and was in various ladies bible studies. Ruth went to CCC to learn the computer. She was also a member of the Legal Secretaries and Soroptomists. Ruth made homemade rolls and deserts for family, friends and countless others, knitted blankets, sweaters and baby clothes for family and friends. She also enjoyed playing the piano and playing bridge with her friends. Her willingness to help others was a woman kind to all who were blessed to know and be with her. No one ever went hungry in her home and she gave others her time and love and gave unselfishly to all of us. Ruth will be greatly missed; to see that beautiful smile and those baby blue eyes light up a room. Memorial Service will be Saturday September 26, 2009 at 1pm at the El Sobrante United Methodist Church at 670 Appian Way. All are welcome. Thank you to all who helped our mother and family during our time of need.
