THOMAS E. CHARLES Tom passed away on April 2, 2007 at 89 years of age. A decorated WWII Naval Officer, Tom retired from the Social Security Department of the U.S. Government. He was an avid hiker and mountain climber ascending major peaks throughout the world. Proud of his Welsh heritage he visited that country many times to locate distant relatives. he was an ardent SF 49ers football fan since the early days of Kezar Stadium. In addition to his many friends Tom is survived by his loving wife Margaret, his sister Corabel Carlson of Woodstock, Illinois, his children Karen McDonald of Seattle, Washington, Sharon Davis of Spokane, Washington, Michael Charles of Danville, California, five grandchildren and one great grandson. interment and a memorial service for Tom will be held Saturday, April 21st at noon at Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 and Skyline Boulevard in San Mateo.
