Melvin "Gene" Gibson was born in Shawnee, OK. He was a loving husband, devoted Christian, active church member and was retired from Kerr-McGee.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Gene Gibson; and other family members.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Idabelle Gibson; daughter, Lenora Aldridge; stepchildren, Bonnie & husband Don Couser, Jimmy & wife Kim Williams, Bobbi & husband David Allen, and Rita Newell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday at 10 a.m. at Vondel L. Smith Chapel near I-240 & S. Western. Visitation at the funeral home will be 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday. Friends may leave their condolences for the family at www.vondelsmithmortuary.com
