Christine Renshaw, age 86 of Sevierville, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Mrs. Renshaw was instrumental in starting a literacy program in Sevier County, and also worked with the Head Start program in Illinois for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Carroll D. Renshaw; parents, Wheeler and Myrtle VonCannon; brother, Paul VonCannon.
Survivors include her children, Theola Renshaw of Sevierville, Wheeler Renshaw and wife Coreen of Tyler, TX, Cecil Renshaw and wife Barbara of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Kennedy, Stephanie, Whitney, Brian and wife Jennifer, Brittany and Bradley; sister-in-law, Nan VonCannon and her son Mike VonCannon and wife Kathy; foster brother, Shirrell Miller and wife Shirley and their children Lois and Gary , and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends 12-2 PM Saturday with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM in Atchleys Seymour Chapel with Pastor Bruce Yates officiating. Interment to follow in Boyds Creek Cemetery.
