Phillipsburg Herald-Phillipsburg, KS February 26, 1891
Social circles are all stirred up now at Kirwin. G. D. Ensign has commenced suit against T. H. Walker claiming $5,000 damage from Walker for alienating his wife's affections from him. Mr. Ensign has employed Frank McKay of this place and the suit has been begun in the District Court and will probably be tried at the next term. It is an unfortunate affair as all the parties concerned stand well in Kirwin. It is a source of regret always when the peace and harmony of families are thus menaced if not entirely destroyed. Mr. Ensign has also commenced suit for divorce.

Phillipsburg Herald--Phillipsburg, Kansas--May 7, 1891
Thomas H. Walker of Kirwin committed suicide by shooting himself through the head on Friday last.

Mr. Walker was the defendant in a suit wherein G. D. Ensign claimed damages to the amount of $10,000 for alienations of the affections of the latter's wife. The case was to have come on for hearing this week. Mr. Walker has many warm friends who claim that he was guiltless of any criminal intimacy with Mrs. Ensign, and that when the case came on for trial would be able to prove his innocence, but that the charges so wrought upon his mind as to cause temporary derangement, during which time he committed the act. Whether innocent or guilty his case has been tried before that court, where the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is admitted as evidence.

Phillipsburg Herald-May 12, 1892--The following cases were dismissed: Ensign vs. Walker. Note: Gideon Deming Ensign married Osie Haskell on October 4, 1883, in Phillips County, KS.

Phillipsburg Herald--May 21, 1891--J. D. Matteson was in the city Friday on business connected with the Walker estate of which he has been appointed administrator.
