MRS. ANNA DIVER DEAD

Mrs. Anna Diver one of our most loved and highly respected pioneer citizens died at her home southeast of town Thursday night, March 14. Having lived here since 1877 and always having occupied a higher place, her influence for good was strongly felt in the home, the neighborhood, and wherever she chose to go. Having a personal charm of manner which she encouraged by her love of music and high ideals of life she was an example worthy of being followed. During the last years of her life it was impossible for her to engage in many activities she enjoyed, but always in her heart and mind there was love for the beautiful and the good, and when life's golden sun set came to her, she no doubt welcomed it with the same radiant joy as the sunrise in glory which awaited her.

Anna Rebecca (Cook) Diver, daughter of John A. and Mary Cook, was born January 21, 1857, at Aurora, Illinois and died at her home southeast of Neosho Falls Thursday, March 14, 1935. She attended Chicago University one year and was graduated from Jenning Seminary and Aurora Institute on June 17th, 1875. She was married to Charles Fredrick Diver November 22, 1877 in Chicago, Ill., when they came to Neosho Falls, Kansas. To this union were born nine children, Euphonia May, who died at the age of five years; Walter Laurel, who died in Guernsey, Wyo. Oct. 16, 1930; Dwight Cook, Ethel Reed, Charles Fredrick Jr., Robert Warren, Dorothy Elizabeth, and Anna Margaret. There are seven grandchildren. The husband of the deceased died January 19, 1918. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Davis of Cheryvale. Burial was made in Neosho Falls cemetery.
