Elizabeth Amanda (Jones) Browne was born in 1839 near Bucksville, on the border of Tuscaloosa and Jefferson Co. AL. She was the daughter of Richard Jones and Grace (McMath) Jones. She married Lewis Devereaux Browne in 1855 in Tuscaloosa AL. This couple lived in Tuscaloosa Co. all their lives, and she outlived her husband by 40 years. She is buried in the Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery on the east side of Tuscaloosa on University St. She is buried on the north side of the small cemetery around her other Browne relatives.
