Emory H. Dell--Retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass
Emory H. Dell, 87, of Hillcrest Apartments, Hollidaysburg, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at 7 p.m. at the Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, following a brief illness.
Born Nov. 20, 1911, in Cass Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late James F. and Blanche (Querry) Dell. He married Dorothy Neary Sept. 11, 1938, in Hollidaysburg. She preceded him in death June 4, 1973.
One son, Robert M. E. Dell of Wilson, N.Y., survives. There are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear friend and companion, Ora Cole.
Mr. Dell was of the Episcopal faith.
He was a member of the Valley of Altoona AASR; Jaffe Temple, AAONMS, Altoona; and was past secretary and member of the Mount Union Moriah Lodge No. 300, F&AM, Huntingdon.
He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, after 40 years of service. He attended Juniata College where he majored in accounting.
Mr. Dell had been a resident of Huntingdon County until 1990, when he moved to his current residence. He was known for being there for the family, friends and others in need. He was always a gentleman.
A memorial service will be held at John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 11:45 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Lauder officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Emory H. Dell are requested for the American Lung Association of Central Pennsylvania, 205 East Beaver Ave., State College, Pa. 16801.
