Coyota was a stray dog who had lived at the Evergreen Alameda Cemetery since she was a puppy. Adopted by the grounds keepers at this cemetery, she kept them company while they worked. She would also keep me company as I photographed the markers. She would see my truck as I entered the cemetery and would run alongside until I parked to greet me.

From the time she lived at the cemetery I did not see any evidence of vandalism. She also kept the small critter population at bay.

Her fate was sealed on October 30, 2009 when the animal control officers caught her. When I found out about this, my frantic calls to the facility to put a stop to the inevitable, were in vain. I missed saving her life by an hour.
