Mr. Harry Phillips Wade

Mr. Harry Phillips Wade, 65, of Carolina Beach, formerly of Erwin died Thursday morning at New Hanover Regional Hospital. He was born in Harnett County on October 5, 1949 to the late Julius Rupert and Dixie Phillips Wade.
Harry graduated from Erwin High School in 1967 and then attended ECU. He worked for UPS for twenty years and was a district manager. After leaving UPS he worked for Freedom Family Homes as a general manager in Burlington for ten years. Harry was co-founder of Crawl for Paws of Carolina Beach.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home by Rev. Anita Sain. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Wade Lakey and husband Eric of Iron Station, Jennifer Wade Bankhead and husband Chris of Charlotte, former wife; Vicki Wade of Huntersville, a brother, Larry Wade and wife Anna of Erwin, three sisters; Judy Page and husband Donnie of Dunn, Jane Coats of Dunn Sandy Ligon and husband Gerry of Raleigh, seven grandchildren; Bailey, Dylan, Gavin, and Gunnar Lakey, Alexander, Victoria, and Isabella Bankhead, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Crawl for Paws, 407 South Carolina Ave. Unit 2 Carolina Beach, NC 28428.
