1930 Eveleth City, St. Louis County, Minnesota Federal Census,
I had previously missed locating Blanche Leone in the 1930 Census because she is listed as, 'Brone B. Furtney. The enumerator had started to write Blanche but Leone corrected him as she preferred Leone - consequently due to erasures the first name was not clearly deciphered.
Furtney, Leone B. , roomer, female, white age 25, single, is not attending school, able to read and write, born in Minnesota, father and mother born in Minnesota, occupation: Librarian and is working.

Note: In August 1930 Blanche returned from a trip to Europe, arriving in Quebec, Canada on Aug 17, 1930 from Southampton England aboard the SS Ascania. On Aug 18, 1930 she arrived in Malone New York; per Border Crossings: From Canada to U.S., 1895-1956;

LINCOLNVILLE - Leone Furtney Alexander of Lincolnville died May 19, 2005, after a short illness. She would have been 101 in June.

She was married for more than 40 years to Fay K. Alexander, MD.,who predeceased her in 1972. They built a home in Lincolnville in 1958, and made many good friends in the area.
An avid reader, Mrs. Alexander, had a weekly reading group at her home. She was active in the Hospital Auxiliary, and was a past president. She also enjoyed birding and travel, visiting many parts of the world.
