HARLINGEN, TX.— James D. Bunton, 85, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his residence in Harlingen.
James was born September 29, 1925 in Luna, NM to Harold and Audry Bunton. He graduated from Huntington East High School in Huntington, WV and then served with the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged from the Army in 1946, earning the rank of T.SGT.
James worked with the Aristech Chemical Corp. in Houston, TX until retiring in 1987 and then moving to Harlingen, TX. He had a passion for building and flying model airplanes, woodworking and playing golf.
James is survived by his wife, Jane Bunton of Harlingen; son, David Bunton of Beaumont, TX; daughter, Nancy Bunton of Mansfield, TX; grand-daughter, Meagan Bunton.
