Memorial service 10:30 am Saturday, March 21st, 2009 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Abilene Cemetery, Abilene, Kansas.

John was born in Ottawa, Kansas on August 18, 1933; the son of the late John B. McDaniel Sr. and Mildred Elizabeth (Turner) McDaniel. He graduated from Kansas State University and retired as a geologist from Allied Labs division of Professional Engineering Consultants. John served in the U.S. Army during Korean War and was a member of the Augusta VFW post. On April 5, 1953 he married Dorothy "Jeanne" (Morris) in Abilene and she survives. He is also survived by: son, Robert McDaniel and wife Karla of Chandler, AZ; daughters, Carla Reida and fiancé Chris Lesniak of Trophy Club, TX; and Lisa Williams and husband Gayle of Springfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Abby, Rachel, Melissa, Kyle, Doug, Michael and Kari; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. McDaniel.
