Charles Edward McVicker, of Rt. #3, Philippi, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 2, 1941, in Taylor County, a son of the late Merle John and Evelyn Mae (Freeze) McVicker.

He is survived by the love of his life, Dottie Lou (Miller) McVicker; three sons, Charles J. McVicker and wife, Linda, J. Michael Armstrong and wife, Diana, all of Philippi, Stephen L. McVicker and wife, Brigetta, Myrtle Beach, S.C.,two daughters, Angela D. Mickelinc and husband, Steven, Philippi, Deborah Rizzo and husband, Tom, Lowell, Mass.; two sisters, Anna Marie (Troy) Lantz, Stonewood, Nancy Booth, Lumberton, N.C.; and a special friend and long time employee, David Robinson, Volga. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diane McVicker; by a granddaughter, Kelsea Brooke Armstrong; by a sister, Nettie Dispanet and a brother, Ray McVicker.

Mr. McVicker had worked for Badger Coal Company and was owner and operator of McVicker Salvage and Poor Boy Timber.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Gene Carey and the Rev. Bradley Howdershelt will officiate and cremation will follow. Private interment will be scheduled at a later date.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M., the funeral hour.
