Ronnie L. Boyd, Sr., 65, of Galesburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 1, 1951 in Burlington, Iowa, to Marion and Betty E.
McGee Boyd. He married Kathy Davis December 13, 1969 in Biggsville. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ron (and Robin) Boyd of Galesburg, John Boyd, and Brian Boyd; a daughter, Jennifer (and Mike) Miller of Bethany, Missouri; two sisters, Connie “Pistol” Murphy and Cindy Boyd; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Addison, Nick, Emily, and Ezra. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Ronnie graduated from Union High School in Biggsville in 1969. He was a welder for Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 36 years and then Mid-State Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 11 years.
Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of Ronnie’s life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Lonnie Sheldon will officiate.
