ADKINS, SADIE BRADEN died 21 Mar 1998 Sadie Braden Adkins, 95, of Winfield, Tenn., died March 21, 1998, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Winfield, Tenn., February 11, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Eldora Chitwood Braden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded also in death by her husband, Harvey Adkins; one son, Franklin D. Adkins; two sisters: Ada Braden and Tavie Braden; and seven brothers: Marshall, Millard, Oscar, Ovie, Taft, Joe, and Elize Braden; and one half-brother. She was the eldest member of Clay Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Irene Cassada of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sons: Sterling Adkins and wife, Jackie of Denver, Colo., Reuben Adkins and wife, Maxine of Cincinnati, Ohio, Floyd Adkins and wife, Irene of Oneida, and Morris Adkins and wife, Ann of Winfield; two sisters, Mary Braden Angel and Etta Braden; two brothers, Warren and Homer Braden; three half-sister; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted March 23, 1998, in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Sherman Smith officiating. Graveside services was conducted March 24, 1998, at Chitwood Cemetery. Jones and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
