Amy Rawls Jenkins, age 49, a lifelong resident of Bastrop, died February 21, 2006 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center following a lenghthy illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Bastrop with the Rev. Roy Myers officiating. Amy is survived by her husband Tim Jenkins and son, Josh Rawls, who served in Afghanistan with the 528th Engineering Battalion, Louisiana National Guard, and now resides in Texas. She is also survived by her mother Jerry Jordan; three sisters, Paula Baker, Janice Beard, Joan Jordan and one brother John Jordan all of West Monroe, Louisiana. Amy was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was preceded in death by her father, Jerald L. Jordan. She was a Special Education teacher at Bastrop High School. Amy had a deep appreciation for her chosen profession, her family, and especially her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was a lover of nature and animals. She requested that all memorials donations be made to the Bastrop Humane Society.The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
