Rex was the son of Elmer Horace and Bertie "Barnett" Clements. He died at the age of 21 from a motor vehicle accident.

MR. REX CLEMENTS, 21, died at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis on Nov. 10, 1955, as the result of injuries sustained Saturday, Nov. 5, when his pickup truck overturned on Highway 9, near Shoot-Us-A-Spear Creek, between Calhoun City and Slate Springs. Mr. Clements lived at Slate Springs and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Clements. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was held in high esteem by those who knew him. He was engaged in farming with his father. He was a native of Calhoun County and had lived his life around Sabougla and Slate Springs. Young Clements had many friends in the oounty and his death caused much sadness. Funeral services were held from Bethel Baptist Church on Friday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 pm, conducted by Revs. H. V. Hardin and J. D. Caples.
Pryor Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements and pallbearers were Sam Barnett, James Clements, Roy Clements, Raymond Clements, Troy Simmons and Bernard Gregg.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Walter Clements of Grenada, Lee Clements and George Clements, both of Slate Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Wall and Mrs. Mary Ellen Wall of Calhoun City; and by his grandfather, Mr. George Barnett of Slate Springs.
