AVOCA—George N. Dax, 80, died Friday (May 25, 1973) in a Richland Center hospital after a long illness.
He was born near Highland and married Alta Snyder in 1919 in Muscoda. They farmed in the Avoca area before moving to Avoca in 1956.
He was the Pulaski Township chairman for many years, and served on the Avoca Village Board. He was a charter member of the Avoca American Legion Post 335 and was a World War I veteran. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Pauls, Muscoda; a son, James, Avoca; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the church. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Godager Funeral Home, Muscoda. There will be military graveside rites.
