Ethel M. Forgey, 75, 2501 E. Washington St., Bloomington, Ill., died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa, Ill. Born Aug. 4, 1923, in Fairbault County, Minn., she was the daughter of Whitney E. and Edith T. Renstrom Melvin.
On Dec. 27, 1945, she married George W. Forgey in Biggsville, Ill.
Mrs. Forgey worked as a secretary at the Ordnance Plant in Middletown for three years and for the Illinois State University, Normal Theatre Department for 15 years. She retired in 1982. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal, Ill. She was a member of the Women's Club, Bridge Club and Golf Club at Mount Morris and Woodstock, Ill. She enjoyed dancing, hiking, bicycling and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
A memorial service for Mrs. Forgey will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 814 Jersey Ave., Normal, Ill., with the Revs. Mary Roth and Debbie Melzer officiating.
