J. Patrick Lennon

Age 67 years, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at his residence, following a brief battle with lung cancer. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by the love of his life, his wife, Corinne and his children, Vicki and Craig, who cared for him continuously in his final days.
Survived by his loving wife, Corinne (nee Kozol); two children, Vicki L. (Mike) Corbisiero and Craig P. (Sharon) Lennon; eight grandchildren, Tayler and Sydney Corbisiero, Kyle, Collin and Tyler Lennon; step grandchildren, Patrick, Ashley and Lizzie Gallagher; beloved brother of Vanette (Ken) Gould and Terry (Kay) Lennon; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Louise and John Lennon; his in-laws, William and Martha Kozol.
He was a lifetime area resident and part time resident in Bonita Springs, FL. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1957 and 1961 graduate of the University of Illinois, with varsity letters in football. He was active in the insurance and investment business for 46 years.
Always civic minded, among some of his philanthropic contributions to the community are: religious instruction at St. Paul the Apostle Grade School, a fundraising member of the Joliet Catholic High School Capital Campaign, vice president of the Joliet Catholic High School Alumni Association, member of the St. Raymond's Cathedral Administrative Council, president of the University Club, recipient of the Joliet Citizen of the Month award, member of the Board of Ethics of Certified Financial Planners, supporter and contributor to several catholic parishes.
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd. Friday, August 25, 2006 at 11:30 AM to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus at 12 Noon for a Mass of Christian Burial. Memorials to Lung Cancer Alliance, 888 16th Street N.W., Suite 800, Washington, D.C. or Vitas Hospice, 600 Holiday Plaza Dr., Suite 200, Matteson, IL, 60433. Visitation Friday, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
