Charles Delbert "Buster" Grover, Sr., 83, of Carson, Wash., formerly of Fremont, died Friday, June 27, 2008, in The Dalles, Ore.

He was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Fremont to Ora and Joy (Acker) Grover. He attended Fremont Public Schools.

He joined the United States Navy in 1941 and was a Ships Cook 1st Class. He was discharged from the Navy in 1945. He married Dona J. Klein in 1948 in Blair. For two years prior to moving to Washington he worked as a masonry contractor. He worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill for 23 years as a bricklayer and machinist. After retiring in 1986, he and his wife, Dona, spent the winters in Yuma, Ariz.


Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Dona; a son, Charles D. Grover; a daughter, Barbara Ann Blumer; a sister-in-law, Pat Snyder of Fremont; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law and a sister.

Services previously were held in Washington.
