According to his WWI Draft Registration, 24 Aug 1918, Charles K Ross, Jr. worked at the Blair Horse Collar factory owned by his father.
His father, Charles, Sr., held the patent US 981006 A for the "adjustable" horse collar, a boon to farm operations everywhere.
Prior to this invention, owners of farm work horses had to keep purchasing separate collars for each farm horse and replacing if the horse increased or decreased in neck size.
