Joe Milan White, age 102, died June 4, 2006.

He was born in Kentucky and reared in the Cave Springs Community of Chester County, son of the late William and Emma Milan White. He attended school in Kentucky and Chester County. He farmed as a young man and in 1920 married Etta Smith of the Caves Springs Community. They made their home in Chester County where Mr. White farmed. In 1950 he was employed for the City of Memphis Sanitation Department, where he later became supervisor, for over 22 years. Mr. White retired in 1972. He was an active member of the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church. He liked to garden and loved nature.

He is survived by a son, Joe D. White of Henderson; a daughter Johnnie Henson of Bethel Springs (Amo); a brother, Howard White of Rickman, TN; five grandchildren, Joyce McMahan (Mac), Joann Dickson, Wanda Seaton (Terry), Judy Gibson, Beverly Shears (Tommy); six great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. A very special caregiver Harice (Mac) McMahan. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Mary Jo White and two daughters Emma Jean White and Maerine Gibson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Whitten officiating and burial in the Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. on Monday.
