Mark James Blackburn, 53, of Benton and formerly of Shickshinny, passed away in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

Born May 28, 1959 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Arthur "Butch" and Loretta Cragle Blackburn. He graduated from Northwest Area High School in 1977. He married Jacqueline Helmecki at St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke, on Oct. 12, 1985. He was employed by the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers, Local 38, for 21 years.

Mark was a loving husband and father, and was well known for his easy-going nature. He loved country living, and was a true sportsman who especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family, wife, Jacqueline, son, James, daughter, Rheanna, all of Benton; sister, Laura and her husband, William Engle; parents, Loretta and Arthur, Shickshinny; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
