Lake Township Pioneer, 87, Succumbs to Pneumonia
Mrs Anna Hitzemann, widow of Fred W Hitzemann, died at 6:40(?) Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs William Stahlhut in Lake township. she had been ill of pneumonia for the past week. Surviving are the following: three sons, Conrad of Washington township; Fred of Lake township, and Christian of Pleasant township, and the daughter, Mrs Stahlhut. There are also 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren surviving. Mrs Hitzemann came to Allen county from Germany when 16 years old and has resided here ever since. She was 87 years old, being the oldest member of Bethlehem Lutheran church of Lake township. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
