Belinda Lee Garza passed away Monday February 15, 2010 at a local hospital.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Inurnment: Bear Creek Cemetery.
Belinda was hired in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford schools on Aug. 20, 1991, as an ESL teacher. While traveling for elementary curriculum in 1993, she was hired at Wilshire Elementary. Belinda pioneered ESL instruction for the H-E-B schools. She was ESL lead teacher, ESL teacher and mentor, wrote district ESL curriculum, was summer school ESL curriculum developer and was ESL professional development proventer.
Survivors: Daughter, Lisa Marie Garza; grandson, Avery John Eric Campbell; mother, Soila Reyna; brothers, Isidoro Garza Jr., Richard Garza, Moses Garza, John Garza and Reuben Garza; sisters, Jane Marques, Roxanne Garcia and Melissa Garza; several nieces and nephews; and other family members.
