Anton Eilers, Father Of Mrs. O. H. Stumpf, Dies

Anton B. Eilers, 84, of Farmington, father of Mrs. O. H. Stumpf of this city, passed away Sunday afternoon at Seven Oak sanitarium here. Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Wilton mortuary in Peoria and interment was in the Bradford cemetery.
Anton B. Eilers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Eilers, was born in Germany March 16, 1858. A the age of 14he became a printer and also learned the carpenter trade. He spent most of his life at the latter trade and retired from active work about 20 years ago. He served in the Germany army from 1878 to 1881.
He was married to Louise Frerichs on March 31, 1882, and the couple came immediately to the United States. They arrived in Peoria in May 1882. His wife preceded him in death at Bradford in 1923.
Mr. Eilers is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Stumpf of Princeville and Emma Hedges of Farmington; two sons, Fred of Washington, Ill. and Ben of Bartonville, and two brothers. Chris Eilers of Peoria and Detrich Eilers, in Germany. A daughter, Louise, died at the age of six. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
