Mary Caroline Elizabeth Schmitt Ariens

Mary Caroline Elizabeth Schmitt married Andrew Nicholas Ariens on September 6, 1913.

Found in genealogy papers of Andrew Ariens: "1958 Rushville Republican You don't believe there are any honest people any more? Everybody out for the fast and easy buck? We have reason to know better, so listen. Last Friday, Mrs. Stanley Collins, 403 East Ninth, appeared at the ad counter, almost in tears. She had just lost her billfold in a downtown store, and with it more than $100 in cash. She left an order for a 'lost' ad and went out. In a few minutes, in came Andrew Ariens Jr., R. R. 7, Rushville. His mother, Mrs. Mary Ariens, same address, had just found a billfold in a Rushville store - containing more than $100 - and he wanted to insert a 'found' ad to get the billfold back to its owner. Well, naturally, neither of the ads got in the paper. The word was passed to Mr. Ariens about Mrs. Collins' loss, and the 'lost' was 'found' real quick. No honest people left? That's for the birds."
