Richard "Dick" Bowman, New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday (Sept. 4, 2001).
Mr. Bowman was a farmer, a heavy equipment operator for the City of New Smyrna Beach and a commercial fisherman. He attended Samsula Baptist Church and was a United States Navy veteran.
He was born Dec. 30, 1923 to Isaac Newton and Grace Mae Surface Bowman. He moved from Indiana to Florida as a child.
Survivors, Include a sister, Ruth Morris, New Market, Indiana.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel with Chaplain Leslie Avchin and the Rev. Wilbur Gieger officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.
