June 1, 1888
In Green Valley, near Ellenburgh Depot, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Gale. May 26,1888. of bronchial pneumonia, WYATT HICKOK, in his 77th year. He was a former resident of Wilmington and brother of Roger Hlckok of that town, and father of F. M. Hickok of Keeseville and Mrs. Charles Gale of Ellenburgh; also, father of C. W. Hickok of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. B. E. McGrew of Des Molnes, Iowa, and Mr. Guy F. North, of Meridian, Miss. He moved to Ausable in 1856, but for the past few years he has lived in different places with his relatives and children, having lived with his daughter, Mrs. Gale, for the past six years, who ministered kindly to his wants to the last moment.
He was a man of unswerving Integrity and generous impulses, and died In the principles of a Christian faith. His funeral was largely attended at his late residence in Ellenburgh, on Sunday, May 28th, Rev. Mr. Ferris conducting the service.
