Born to Isaac and Dorothy Johnson on December 11, 1938, in Phoenix, Ariz. Allan Johnson entered into his rest on September 4, 2010.

He was a long-time resident of the desert and is survived by his sons, Allan A. Johnson, Jr, Sean A. Johnson; step-daughter Karen Berkshire and grandchildren Sean Berkshire and Holly Berkshire; companion, Marilyn; former wife, Barbara A. Follas and mother, Jeri Williams.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lindalee A. Johnson.

He spent four years in the U.S. Navy after which he and his father worked on the construction of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in 1962.

He remained in the employment of the Tram for forty-eight years thereafter until the date of his passing.

During this time, Allan was also involved in public service belonging to the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue for thirty-three years attaining the rank of captain.

He participated in other special events such as rodeos and served as Parade Chairman.

In noteworthy addition, he was a long-time member of the well-known club Los Compadres where he served three terms as president.

He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many enjoyable hours with his close friends indulging in his favorite sport, ocean fishing.

His loyalty to the community and hard work endeared him to hundreds of people in his very worthy and productive life and he will be missed and fondly remembered by all.

Service will be at Los Compadres, 1849 S. El Cielo, Palm Springs, CA 92262 at 2 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2010.
