Gary Wayne Peterman, 53, of La Grande died at his residence on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012. No services are planned at this time. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Gary was born June 25, 1959 in Tucson, Ariz., to Daniel D. Peterman and Maxine (Sartars) Peterman. Due to his father's military career, Gary lived in many places throughout his youth, including Tucson, Santa Paula, California, Bend, and La Grande where he graduated from high school. He married Masharia Thomason. Gary worked at Safeway and other retail stores as well as appliance salvage and repair. He enjoyed archery and rifle hunting and fishing, especially for steelhead. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. Favorite activities for Gary and his wife were camping and huckleberry picking. Gary is survived by his wife Masharia of La Grande; his father Daniel Peterman of La Grande and his mother Maxine Valentich of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother Kevin Peterman and his wife Jamie of Eagle River, Alaska; his uncle and Aunt Gary and Deloris Falls and uncle Gary E.
