Joseph Vincent Gruskiewicz, Sr.

Joseph Vincent Gruskiewicz, Sr., 80, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at his home. Joseph was born on March 16, 1932 in Nanticoke, PA. He and his family then moved to Newark, where he grew up. In 1961, Joseph and his wife Patricia settled in Hazlet. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. Before retiring, he worked in retail management at Bradlee's in Hazlet for many years.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Stephen and Pauline (Sarnak) Gruskiewicz; his beloved wife, Patricia (Pero) Gruskiewicz, and his dear brother, Vincent Gruskiewicz. Joseph is survived by his loving children, Susan Orr of Hazlet, Joseph Gruskiewicz Jr. and his companion Felicia Ybarra of Belford, Theresa McKenna and her husband Robert of Huntersville, NC, Thomas Gruskiewicz and his wife Jill of Middletown, DE, Marianne Carine and her husband Frank of Hazlet, along with his cherished grandchildren, Melissa Nance, Dana Haug, Matthew Gruskiewicz, Rebecca & Robert McKenna, Andrea Brown, Frank Carine, Sam Gruskiewicz, Susan Carine, Jack, Zachary, Emma and Olivia Gruskiewicz. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

In respect of Joseph's wishes, he will be privately cremated. A memorial service will be held in memory of Joseph at a future date, to be announced. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service
