VIRGINIA BEACH - Jonathan R. Ward, 21, went to be with the Lord Dec. 11, 2009. Jonathan was born Dec. 7, 1988 in Norfolk. He graduated from Kellam High School and was most recently employed as a water surveyor with Water Way. He was a loving, young man who had strong ties to his family and just begun to live his life. Jonathan was member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. He enjoyed all outdoor activities especially hunting and fishing. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Carroll Ward and wife Alice; mother, Sam Meinecke and husband Eric; four brothers, Dean McMicking, Jay North, Rosley Ward and Colten Ward; three sisters, Jill Kruger, Justine Ward and Alex Ward; paternal grandparents, Bill and Caroline Ward; paternal stepgrandparents, Ed and Rita Kennedy; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 13, at Rosewood- Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the funeral home.
