Florence Gertrude "Flo" Thorn was the 11th of 12 children born to Margaret (Roberts) and John Carl Joachim Holtz III. Her oldest sibling apparently died in infancy and may never have been named. Flo developed lung cancer and passed away from the disease in 1984. At the time of her death she was a member of the Church of England. Survivors were her three daughters and one son-in-law, Ken Oliver, and nine grandchildren.
