Gary E. Allen, 57, of Pryor, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994 at Tulsa. He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Labette to Walter and Norma Robinson Allen, and grew up in Galesburg. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He married Shirley Wait July 1, 1966, at Blue Summit Baptist Church, Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home. Mr. Allen attended Oklahoma State University and Kansas State University, earning a master's degree in education. He taught school at Udall and then worked for Ford Motor Co.. in Minnesota. He worked several years as a service representative at Kansas City, Mo. before being transferred to Dearborn, Michigan. In 1970, he moved back to Galesburg, where he farmed. In 1975, he moved to Pryor to teach diesel mechanics at Northeast Area Vocational Technical School, South Campus. He was a member of the Southside Cristian Church, Prior, the Oklahoma and National Education Association the Green and Yellow Two-cylinder Tractor Club and the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America. Other survivors include four daughters, Margie Robinson, Sonja Newby, Jean Fuller, and Lisa Smith. nine grandchildren, a brother, Glen, and his mother Norma Allen. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Lois Ann in infancy.
