Emilie was married to Edward Walter Choate on February 13, 1879. To this union were born six daughters, three who died in infancy.
Emilie and Edward farmed in the Cottage Hill community until 1904, because of Edward's ailing health, moved to a smaller farm near Blue Rapids, KS. Edward passed away October 19, 1905. In July 1910 she moved to Waterville, Ks.
Emilie was preceded in death, besides her husband, by her three daughters; Josephine, Mabel and Ethyn. Her daughter Nellie Isaacson passed away in 1945 also.
Two daughters survive; Florence Choate and Emma Estella Mills.
