EVA (ACHENBACH) BORN

Death Tuesday last week, after an illness of 9 days, of Mrs. Eva Born, widow of Johann Heinrich Born who died 2 years ago, in the home of her son Adam Born in Centerville.
The deceased (nee Achenbach) was born 11 June 1825 in Lower Dieten, Kingdom of Hesse-Darmstadt, and came to America in 1853, on 6 July of that same year settling in Manitowoc with 2 brothers and a sister. In August of that same year she married above named Mr. Born, the marriage producing 8 children of whom 6 still are living.
The couple lived for many years on a farm in Town Newton, moved to Fond du Lac County in 1885, but returned to Manitowoc County in 1894 where they have lived ever since. Since that time they have lived with their son Adam in Centerville. The funeral was held Saturday and the deceased was carried to her last rest by her 6 sons.
