Raymond W. Ainsworth

Raymond Wesley Ainsworth, 77, of Orland died Jan. 7, 2003 in Chico.
Born January 22, 1925 in Gainesville, Texas. He was the son of Dewey and Minnie Ainsworth.
He served in the U.S. Navy and Marines during World War II.
He married Joy Odell in 1946. He worked for the Richmond Fire Dept. for 25 ears. He moved to Orland in 1971 and raised oranges. He was a life member of the Orland VFW, Orland Eagles and Red Bluff Elks 1250. He loved to hunt deer, ducks and pheasants. He spent his summers at Eagle Lake, where he loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joy of Orland; his brother-in-law Leslie Courtney and wife Jean of Vacaville; two nephews, Jim Ainsworth of Red Bluff and Tim Ainsworth of Pearcy, Ark; three nieces, Patty, Lori and Janene of Pearcy, Ark.; and his sister-in-law, Minnie Ainsworth of Pearcy, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Ainsworth.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
A graveside service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Graves Cemetery in Orland. Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son of Orland.
