Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in Mt. Pleasant with President Jorge Sanchez. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Murphy Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
Debra was born on August 24, 1951, in San Mateo, California, the daughter of James & Dortha Scott Watson. She was united in marriage to Dale L. Akers on December 17, 1971, in San Mateo, California. Debra was an amazing cook, loved serving others. She enjoyed singing, crafting and was a very creative lady. She was a longtime member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in Mt. Pleasant where she served in many different areas of the church.
She is survived by her husband Dale of Mt. Pleasant, and her children; Josh (Julie) Akers, Jessica Roddy and Johnathan (Becky) Akers along with her grandchildren; Kali Knoth, Tyler Akers Jasmin Akers, Haley Akers, Alex Akers, Riley Akers and Roya Akers, her mother Dortha Watson, along with brothers and sister; Jim Watson, Carol Thompson, Randy Watson and Kevin Watson.
She was preceded in death by her father James Watson.
