She was a native of Jonesboro and was of the Baptist belief. Melba enjoyed cooking, playing cards and loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 children and 1 brother.
Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Don of the home; 3 sons, Terry (Danya) Black of Valley View; Tommy Black of Memphis; and Tim (Tiffany) Black of Memphis. 2 sisters, Wilma Nixon and Lorene Ross, both of Jonesboro. 6 grandchildren; Caitlin Black, Madison Black, Briar Miller, Fischer Miller, Kasen Black and Jaxon Black.
Graveside services were at Gibson Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
