Mrs. Annie B. Guill Beckedorff, 97, of Greensboro, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 4, 2009.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Barrett officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg.

Mrs. Beckedorff was born on May 15, 1912 in Clover to Ethron and Florida Virginia Allen Guill. She was a cosmetologist for 20 years in Augusta, GA and Albuquerque, NM. She lived in Albuquerque for 34 years, and also lived in Greensboro with her daughter, Virginia Lee Allen Lewis and son-in-law Richard. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed playing bridge at Forest Oaks Country Club, where she was known as "Queen B." Annie was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and Ruth Lanier Bible Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Col. L.L. Beckedorff; brother, Willie Lee Guill; sisters, Lester Moorefield, Virginia Throckmorton and Louise Womack.

Survivors include daughter, Virginia Lee Lewis and husband, Rev. Richard Lewis, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Dr. Anne Lewis of Reidsville, NC, Randy Allen Lewis and wife, Toni, of Greensboro; and great-grandchildren, Bradley Allen Lewis and Mitchell Tucker Lewis.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.
