Dorothy Adams, age 83 of Pulaski, VA departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 9, 1925 in Pulaski, VA the daughter of the late Otis Shelton & Edna Gordon Shelton. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Magazine Street, Pulaski where she served as church musician for over sixty years. She was the last original member of the traveling Ten Gospel Group. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of sixty-five years, George E. Adams; one daughter, Pamela Adams; and one brother, Harry Crockett. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 13th, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, Magazine Street with the Rev. William Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Penn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
