LA RUE-A Terrible Accident by Stroke of Lightning
"Yesterday between twelve and one o'clock, Benj. Morris, Horace and Charley Clement and a small boy aged twelve years, son of Mr. Myers of Hepburn, were out in the yard pitching horseshoes, at Geo. Clement's, eight miles northwest of here. Horace Clement, aged twenty-five years, and young Myers were instantly killed by a stroke of lightning. Charley Clement was standing close to his brother and received a severe shock striking him senseless, in which condition he remained for some time, though it is thought he will recover. Benj. Morris was stunned for a few moments but soon recovered, and to his horror to behold the scene of the above all laying in a heap. The funerals of the deceased were held at Montgomery today at two o'clock, after which the remains were interred at the Lee Cemetery."
