Evelyn Louise Gilbert Abernathy, age 83, of Mableton, GA., passed away April 8, 2014. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Kennesaw, GA., with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Kennesaw, GA.
Mrs. Abernathy was a native of Kennesaw, GA. She retired from Lockheed Martin after many years of service and she is preceded in death by her husband Elihue Richard Abernathy.
Surviving are son Richard D. Abernathy, Mableton, GA.; brother Clyde Harry Gilbert, Kennesaw, GA.; grandchildren Richard Lee Abernathy, Darrell David Abernathy, and April Michelle Chapman; great great grandchildren Grace, Eli, Boston and Dallas, GA.
