Below is a biographical entry from Standifer's History of Magnolia Lodge (Blakely, Ga.), which appeared in published booklet and in serial fashion (over a period of weeks) in The Early County News (Blakely) in Summer 1926. Martin Taylor Alexander's entry from Standifer's compilation was included in The Early County News's August 5, 1926 issue (Page 8):

Martin Taylor Alexander, Sr.
- Joined old Magnolia Lodge in 1865. He was a son of James Wooten Alexander, Sr., and Emily Childers, and was born in Washington county, Ga., on April 12th, 1826. He married Miss Mary Jane Hutchins, a daughter of Anthony Hutchins, Sr., on December 29th, 1847, and was the father of Martin T. Alexander, Jr., Wyatt H. Alexander, Sr., and Mrs. B.R. Dostor. Mr. Alexander was one of the big land owners of Early county in his day.
