Rick Anderson, a resident of Napier Field, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at his residence. He was 50 years old.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Hilary Stewart and Brother Ronnie Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Dale County High School Athletic Club, Midland City, Alabama, 36350.

Rick was born September 1, 1954 in Texas and lived the early years of his life in Brundidge, Alabama. At the age of 13, he moved to Enterprise. Rick was employed for 17 years with Utility Trailers in Enterprise and later with MacTools Distribution Company. For the past four years Rick was employed with Dyncorp and Army Fleet Support.

Rick was a member of Panther Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid supporter of Dale County Sports where he coached the Dale County "Little Warriors" for several years. He was also a NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Anderson, Napier Field; a son, Stewart Anderson, Napier Field; a daughter, Lauren Anderson, Napier Field; mom and dad, Hilary and Nadine Stewart, Fayette, Alabama; brother and sister, Robert and Laurel McLaughlin and nephews, Dustin, Tyler and Jordan McLaughlin, Loganville, Georgia; his parents, Herbert and Betty Anderson, Enterprise; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brett and Susan Anderson and Kirk and Mamie Anderson, Two nieces and a nephew, Tasha, Ashley and David Anderson, all of Enterprise.

Active pallbearers will be Phillip Stuckey, Mike Smith, Joe Garst, Chris Dobbs, Wesley Locke, Mike Wood and Joe Marshall.
