Of Roseville, Los Gatos and San Francisco, CA. Entered into rest after a brief illness. A remarkable man from an era when your word is your bond and the measure of a man. In facing his illness he was resolute to finalize the details and leave things in perfect order and embrace God. Most of all, he was joyful in the prospect of joining his beloved wife, Eleanor Dieker Bagatelos, separated in death for 32 years.

He was an extremely gifted billiard player, competitor and mentor, a successful retail liquor retailer owning and partnering in over 30 stores throughout the years. He was a founder and past president of the California State Liquor Dealer's Association, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #522 of San Jose and served honorably in the U.S. Army.

In his early life, he was a leader at Mission High School (1945), a talented athlete and baseball player with a 500 batting average. He was scouted to play professional ball but decided to pursue a career in business when he recognized he'd been given a wonderful opportunity with a mentor.

He leaves behind his beloved sister Mary Myrtakis of Vacaville, son Anthony S. Bagatelos and Jandira Arantes of Castro Valley, Daughter Mary Ann Bagatelos-Land and Dr. Robert Land of Los Gatos, devoted and loving grandsons Anthony Bagatelos Jr., and Theodore Charles Bagatelos of Rancho Cordova, many cousins, nieces, nephews, God-daughters and many true and devoted friends. He loved you all.
